(World of Warcraft) Fix WoW Input Lag or Latency

Have you ever felt like, when pressing a spell or ability, it doesn’t feel like it’s going off instantly like if the keys were stuck to the keyboard, well, its not your imagination, as that’s a real thing and it’s called WoW input lag or input latency, and in this post you’ll see how you can fix it.

So first of all input lag is not the regular lag you get in game that shows in the bottom right corner:

This is just the normal latency in game it will vary depending on your distance with the server, but this will help us get the correct settings to fix your input lag so now lets follow some steps to do that:

STEP 1 - CHECK INITIAL VALUE

Type the following in game and press enter:

/dump GetCVar("SpellQueueWindow")

If done correctly you should see a number like this:

That number is your SpellQueueWindow if you never done this before it should be 400 thats the default value, The SpellQueueWindow is the amount of time you have to press to prepare a spell before your global cooldown ends that way as soon as it does your next spell will go off, the problem is when this is too high or too low, if its too high your keys will feel slow and sticky but if too low youll have to button mash to get spells to go off.

STEP 2 - CHANGE VALUE

The value you want there will depend on your world ms latency that we saw at the start, in my case it was 157 so you want to add a number between 80 to 150 to that, you do have to do a bit of testing to figure out what feels best for you in my case I started adding 150 and then lowered my way down to 83 just to get a nice round number at 240
To change the value you have to do the following command, for this example we will add 143 to my base latency of 157 that will give us the value of 300

/console SpellQueueWindow 300

You press enter and now the value has changed although no confirmation message will apear.

STEP 3 - CHECK IF IT CHANGED

So to check if it changed we have to use this command again:

/dump GetCVar("SpellQueueWindow")

And thats it you have successfully changed your input lag test out different values and see witch one feels better.

(World of Warcraft) All my Retribution Paladin weakauras

WeakAuras is a crucial tool for enhancing our gameplay, it provides us with unparalleled customization and information management.

As a Retribution paladin, while our rotation is simple you still need to track a lot of cooldowns, buffs and debuffs doing this correctly helps you improve your damage output, My weakaura setup is pretty simple nothing fancy but get the job done.

Since the strings are just too long ill leave a link to the the google docs where they are located they will be updated often, hope they help you out.

(World of Warcraft) Retribution Paladin All my Macros

Macros are vital to being a good Retribution Paladin since we have so much utility, we need to be able to use it while doing damage as seamless as possible, here you will find all the Macros I use when doing M+ or raiding.

DAMAGE MACROS:

We don't have many offensive Macros, but having these will make your rotation a lot cleaner

WINGS+TRINKET SLOT 13+ FINAL RECKONING ON SELF

This Macro will use Avenging wrath combined with Final Reckoning targeting ourselves and any on use trinket that is in the slot 13 (also known as the first trinket slot) very useful to do fast burst and start our rotation:

#showtooltip avenging wrath
/use 13
/cast Avenging wrath
/cast [@yourname] Final reckoning

FINAL RECKONING SELF TARGET (change yourname to your characters name)

This Macro will use Final Reckoning targeting ourselves make sure you change the "yourname" part to your characters name, this is useful if you need to split your damage cooldowns and use Final Reckoning alone:

#showtooltip final reckoning
/cast [@yourname] Final reckoning

FINAL RECKONING ON CURSOR

This Macro will use Final Reckoning targeting our mouse cursor, although rarely there will be times when you need to use Final Reckoning from far away this makes it easy to use just doing one input and not having to see the green circle reticle

#showtooltip Final Reckoning
/use [@cursor] Final Reckoning

UTILITY HELPFUL MOUSEOVER MACROS

As Retribution Paladins we have a lot of utility spells that can help us or the group in very impactful ways, so to use them fast and while maintaining our damage rotation, the best solution is to use them on mouseover
